Press Release: OmniPerception world-leading face recognition technology given Swedish endorsement

10 December 2010

Face recognition experts OmniPerception is set to see its world leading access control technology being offered to law enforcement and government agencies in Sweden.

The CheckPoint™ access control face recognition system was chosen by PEJAB – a leading systems integrator in Sweden as the most accurate and advanced example of the technology that it tested.

PEJAB has a number of key clients that have a need for increased access security that not only includes law enforcement agencies but sectors such as retail. A trial is also currently taking place with the Swedish prison authorities. If this is successful then CheckPoint™ could be used to help control key access areas in prisons.

“We chose CheckPoint™ out of all the other solutions in the world because it is a more superior overall security system,” said Peter Johansson, Managing Director of PEJAB.

“The unit is also light immune and works in any light - making it ideal for a whole host of different applications in different sectors from retail to law enforcement.

“We also liked the fact that OmniPerception maintains close links with the University of Surrey, because it means that OmniPerception is guaranteed the best minds in biometric solutions in the future.”

Stewart Hefferman, the CEO of OmniPerception explained that this is just one example of the strong links that OmniPerception is forging with key partners outside of the UK.

“This is yet another welcome endorsement for our CheckPoint™ technology. We are delighted that is proving a great success in its use in the access control environment across a variety of sectors worldwide,” he said.
