David McIntosh

David has 40 years successful experience in management, eighteen of which have been in the leadership of high technology organizations. He was previously CEO of OmniPerception (2003-09) and of broadcast electronics specialists Electrocraft Ltd (1996-2002). From 1990-96 he served the NHS as General Manager of the Scottish National Blood Service. He has extensive international management experience and speaks three languages. His qualifications include an MA in Psychology and Philosophy from Oxford University and a Diploma in HR Management from the LSE.

Stephen K Proctor

Stephen has over 40 years successful experience in entrepreneurial business. He is the former owner, Chairman and Managing Director of the UK’s leading brand analysis firm, Sports Marketing Surveys Limited and since 2006 has been Chairman of OmniPerception subsidiary, Applied Image Recognition. His commercial acumen and experience in creating new markets, for instance in pioneering the introduction of car safety belts into the UK; and also introducing and successfully exploiting the concept of research and evaluation in the sponsorship market are significant assets for OmniPerception.

Since joining Iris in 2000, Alexander has been responsible for investments in the IT industry. In addition to OmniPerception, he is currently on the boards of directors of Datamars (CH), Acapela Group (Belgium), Neocase and WStore Europe (France). Prior to joining Iris, Alexander was international marketing director for multimedia rights at Universal Content (Toronto). He studied at Upper Canada College (Toronto), McGill University (Montreal) and the University of Western Ontario (Hons. B.Phil.) and holds an MBA in Technology Management from Theseus International Management Institute (Sophia-Antipolis, France).

Dr Richard Leaver

Dr Richard Leaver is the Chief Executive of Blue Star Capital plc. Richard has a degree in Applied Physics from Durham University and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence together with an MBA. He has worked as a fund manager since 2001, making investments from over four funds ranging from areas as diverse as nanotechology, to ultra low power semiconductors and vision systems. Prior to this, he worked extensively in international business consulting and development in Cambridge following 11 years in a number of defence related areas with BAE Systems.

Sandy has over 18 years experience in commercialising technology innovations, the last 7 of these as a partner with Pentech. Prior to Pentech, he was Director of Knowledge Transfer & Technology and Research Services at Heriot-Watt University where he helped in mentoring and fund raising of twelve spin-out companies. Prior to this, he was a freelance technical and marketing consultant, and with Scientific Generics in Cambridge he helped develop and ran their Advance Technology Group. Sandy has also provided deep technical and market due-diligence services in many sectors for a variety of blue-chip companies and VCs.
